Libel
Remember when I joked back in April about attending the Tax Day Tea Party in St. Paul while 8 months pregnant (I had the boys exactly 2 weeks later)...I was wearing all black stretchy clothes as I was huge and extremely uncomfortable....I asked "Was I wearing black because I was trying to look thinner or because I was a right-wing extremist?" (Poking fun at the Department of Homeland Security report)
I'm not laughing anymore.
From the Heritage Foundation blog today:
Today, President Obama’s campaign organization “Organizing for America” sent out a notice to its “grassroots” supporters. It asked them to wage a coordinated phone campaign for health care by calling their U.S. Senators on September 11 – also known as Patriot Dayin honor of the thousands of Americans killed by Al Qaeda terrorists eight years ago. It goes on: “All 50 States are coordinating in this – as we fight back against our own Right-Wing Domestic Terrorists who are subverting the American Democratic Process, whipped to a frenzy by their Fox Propaganda Network ceaselessly re-seizing power for their treacherous leaders.” Please read that again.
I read this first on Freedom Dogs and then found the screen shot at the Heritage Foundation. Here's the cached page.
Definitely read the rest of the Heritage blog post here.
Theoffical campaign organization for the POTUS is likening an American protesting the public-option to Timothy McVeigh-- a mass murderer? They're likening Americans protesting government spending to Al-Qaeda?
This is disgusting and of course right out of the Saul Alinsky playbook: "Rules for Radicals"--(from the Daily Kos version) RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)
This is exactly what the lefties and their stooges in the media do, see Sarah Palin, see Michele Bachmann. They want people to say "yeah, they're crazy, I don't want to be associated with them." Those jackasses are one thing..the President of the United States is quite another.
This is going to backfire, big time. Once again for the 150th time-- What if George Bush did the same thing? What if George Bush's website called Americans "domestic terrorists"? McCarthyism anyone? Witchhunt anyone?
Crickets chirping from the left.
I wonder if you can file a class-action lawsuit against the President's campaign organization, Organizing for America...for libel.
