Actually, if I remember correctly, you did misrepresent yourself. Sure, you said you were a housewife and a blogger, but you wouldn't identify which blog you wrote for (I would have known this one, had you owned up to it) and you only told me you were affiliated with the event after taking photos and the press release. By the way - I think it is HIGHLY unethical to misrepresent your intentions with both taking the photos AND the press release.
Also, that tee shirt? They offered it to me multiple times, and I finally took one. They were free for attendees, which I was one. The emails I got about the event said it was open to the public. The event organizers only changed that after we showed up with our "Clean Energy Jobs" signs and our green hard hats.
Finally, "massively funded" environmental groups? Hardly. The environmental community spent a fraction of what the oil industry spent on lobbying against this bill in the earlier part of the year. The thing that makes us REAL grassroots is that most of our funding comes from individuals giving small contributions. It's nice of you to volunteer your time, but it's a complete fallacy to claim that environmental groups have even a fraction of what industry lobbying groups have. Let's compare the cost of the API event to the cost of our signs, hard hats, and the paid staff time for us to be there. I have a feeling that one side of that ratio would be more heavily weighted. Nice try, Sheila.
