Sticks and Stones

Written by Sheila Kihne.

The media (including Bill O'Reilly who wasn't there) is portraying the National Tea Party as an event with a "racial element". One commentator on CNN this weekend called people like me part of an "angry lynch mob."  We're being called racist murderers now.  This is really to the point of total absurdity.

President Obama's administration wanted us to talk about race?  Let's talk about race.

Race has nothing to do with your ability to achieve in this country.  Nothing.  End of story.

Racism means that you believe your race is superior to another race.  I know nobody who believes that.

I believe that Condoleeza Rice and Clarence Thomas are far superior to me intellectually.

I believe that Kanye West is far inferior to me intellectually.

I know that if you're black that there is a 65% chance that you voted in 2008 and a 96% chance you voted for Obama, which means you are a liberal Democrat, which means we will have very little in common because I'm a conservative Republican.  I don't have much to say to a white person who voted for Obama either, many who read this blog can attest to that.  (I wonder if Hillary voted for Obama?)

I know that in 1966, 85% of black children were raised in two-parent homes, today only 34% of black children are raised in two-parent homes.

I know that Lyndon Johnson's "War on Poverty" and "Great Society" programs (the modern welfare state) were launched in 1964 and Reagan (my hero) passed the Earned Income Tax Credits in the 1980's....an unintended consequence was the redistribution of wealth that has been expanded over the years and continues today.

I believe if you want Social Justice that the federal government should investigate ACORN. The liberal left shamelessly use organizations like ACORN to gain the votes of poor black Americans.

I know that President Obama sends his kids to a $26,000 a year private school while denying other black children in D.C. the right to a voucher so that they can attend a private school.  I know that Minneapolis public schools spends $13,000 per pupil with a 52% graduation rate.

Who are the racists?

I believe we are a melting pot-- not a multi-cultural country.  One America where we melt together our cultures and traditions into one American culture.  Fabric interwoven is stronger than separate pieces.

I judge people as individuals..on the content of their character.  What a BRILLIANT way to determine how to judge people, thank you MLK.

Back to the Tea Parties:

Conservatives don't have quotas at our events.

When you tell anybody to sit down and shut up it will only make them protest more loudly next time.

Racist, bigot, homophobe, rich, wealthy, redneck, Brooks Brothers Brigade, hick, stupid, misinformed, astroturf....

Is that it?  Are you done yet you big babies?  Do you feel better?   You have the White House, and all of Congress, you have absolute power to pass all of your big-government policies.  Why are you so mad?

Ah, they want total silence.  Like an old-school teacher with ruler in hand, they continue the character assassination. They continue to use political correctness as a weapon as they have for two decades now.

This time, we don't care.
