Making up the News
So let me sum up the media reporting for the week in case you missed it:
1. Stupid Balloon Boy Story- I don't care about these weirdos. There's a war going on and a debate about said war. There's serious legislation that's about to be shoved down our throats regardless of the fact that over half of the country doesn't want it. Fox News, CNN, radio news, they can't stop talking about this balloon story. NOBODY CARES! If you do care, you might need an IQ test.
2. The Drive-By Media vs. Rush wherby new outlets were Reporting complete fabrications about Rush Limbaugh. Outright lies lifted from the Internet taken from a book with made-up lies. Stupid reporters and commentators, missing the slightest bit of intellectual curiosity, repeat the lies. I've listened to Rush for twenty years. He is one of the most intelligent- and entertaining- people in America. He's a true conservative and when the country seems likes it's going off the deep end, it's Rush who talks you off the ledge.
You have to be informed to listen to Rush, you have to have intellect and possess wit to listen to Rush. If you don't "get" Rush, you also might need an IQ test. This discussion with Juan Williams on Fox News nailed it:
What's newsworthy is that a United States Representative, Sheila Jackson Lee, is using OUR HOUSE and being paid on OUR DIME to viciously attack a PRIVATE CITIZEN....nah, that's not newsworthy. It's just Rush Limbaugh. He deserves it.
3. The Illegal Alien Costume that is being yanked from Target, Amazon.com and retailers across the country. I guessed there would be a huge backlash on this and a quick surf of comments all over the web confirms this.
Illegal immigration was an issue that was simply left on the table in 2007 when some 66% of Americans wanted the borders secured and illegal immigration reduced. The politicians STILL haven't addressed the problem except to offer de facto health care coverage for illegals via Obamacare.
And about this alien being offensive. I'm a women, maybe I'm offended by the fact that 80% of women dress as hookers these days for Halloween. I'm Catholic, so I'm offended by pregnant nuns and drunk priest costumes. I'm 36-years old, and I'm offended by the fact that teenagers now like to dress up in clothes that I actually wore in the 1980's. I'm a Republican so I'm offended when people dressed up as Sarah Palin moose-killers last year...I mean seriously.
It's a literal alien...from outerspace...it's funny you politically correct morons.

It's also sold-out anywhere you look online.
My guess is there isn't ONE, not ONE actual illegal alien who is offended. Only the people who get on camera by being offended, the "professionally offended" are offended. If there are any illegal aliens offended, perhaps they can register a complaint with their State's Attorney General office...except that they'd be deported, because they're here illegally.
The best was the local news tonight on KARE11. The weekend anchors reporting this costume story with the somber tones and solemn faces that would normally be reserved for a story about war or cancer.....or maybe about a kid being flown through the sky in a homemade weather balloon.
Speaking of KARE 11, I joined about fifty other protesters on this beautiful afternoon outside their Golden Valley Studios.
My sign:
KARE 11 knew we were there and had cones out around their parking lots-- I thought it was odd as I had been there before and didn't remember their parking lots being blocked off. I guess they were worried... There was a rent-a-cop at the door. This guy looked like trouble:
Love the little boy.
Good signs...
And more pics from my buddy Brian.

It was a Nationally coordinated event "Operation: Can you hear us now?" I haven't seen a local news outlet report on the protest of course. Not enough people you say? Remember when the Strib and WCCO reported on FOUR women outside the Bachmann event at the U a couple of weeks ago?
They make up the news people. They make up the news.
My sister was down at the Atlanta event outside of CNN and reported about 600 people there. A quick perusal of Facebook posts for other locations and knowing there were roughly 75 locations, it will come in between 7,000-10,000 people protesting the media today. And they deserved it. Can they hear us now? Apparently not. 2010 is going to be crazy and I'll be in NYC if any massive protest of the major media is planned. I'll dress up as Katie Couric.
If you're interested, you can Go to you tube and search "Can you hear us now" for tons of videos from today.
P.S. Did you know that President Obama was greeted by THOUSANDS of protestors in SAN FRANCISCO this week? Bet you didn't, only the local affiliate reported it.
